Cleo Bailey Experiment
The Cleo Bailey Experiment, established in spring 2020, is a nonprofit organization located in the heart of Anderson, SC, dedicated to revitalizing the community through education and essential services. Housed in a historic 1913 schoolhouse on a lush 2-acre property, the initiative symbolizes resilience and collective effort in serving local families, particularly those with limited resources.
At the core of its mission is an urban garden that, in the 2023 growing season, produced nearly 3,000 pounds of fresh produce for approximately 100 families. Through hands-on classes in sustainable cultivation and the importance of food origins, the Cleo Bailey Experiment fosters learning, connection, and self-sufficiency within the community.
