Robert F. Murphy, M.D. is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at MUSC specializing in the care of musculoskeletal conditions in children and adolescents. Dr. Murphy's expertise is in pediatric and adolescent spinal conditions and deformity, pediatric and adolescent hip dysplasia and hip conditions, as well as lower extremity and foot deformities in children. He also treats children with sprains, strains, injuries, and fractures.A native Midwesterner, Dr. Murphy graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2005. His medical degree was obtained from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 2009. Following medical school, Dr. Murphy completed his residency at the University of Tennessee &- Campbell Clinic in Memphis,Dr. Murphy is active in clinical research as well as medical education. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He has also participated in international medical outreach trips.

Dr. Harris Slone is a professor of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Slone specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment sports medicine injuries with a focus on arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Slone attended medical school at the University of Virginia. He completed residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, and was later recruited to join the faculty after completing his fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Emory University. Dr. Slone has helped to provide care to several collegiate and professional teams, including Emory and Georgia Tech University (NCAA), the Charleston Riverdogs (MiLB), the Charleston Battery (USL), and the Atlanta Falcons (NFL). He is currently a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Emerging Leaders. As an active clinician scientist, he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters as well as presented his research at national and international meetings. The primary focus of his clinical research is ACL reconstruction with various graft options.He is accepting new patients at MUSC Health locations in West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, and North Charleston.

Josef K. Eichinger, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty focus in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is a professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He was formerly the chief of orthopaedic surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, and at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is a retired Colonel from the US Army Medical Corps and previously deployed to Afghanistan with the 541st Forward Surgical Team. Dr. Eichinger received his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his M.D. degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and the Harvard shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship in Boston. Dr. Eichinger is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is on the editorial board for the Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Research and for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery for CME and is a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Orthopedics, Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Journal of Sports Medicine. Dr. Eichinger has presented research and lectured at numerous national meetings. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters in such journals as the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Research, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Military Medicine. Dr. Eichinger's special areas of interests include total joint replacement surgery of the shoulder and elbow; surgical and non-surgical treatment of all shoulder and elbow disorders; sports medicine for overhead and throwing athletes, including baseball, tennis, and golf; and arthroscopic surgery. He also has expertise in the treatment of failed prior shoulder and elbow surgery as well as complex clavicle (collarbone), shoulder (proximal humerus), and elbow fractures. Dr. Eichinger has completed countless areas of research including, but not limited to, Orthopaedic Application of Cryotherapy, Muscle Tendon Transfers Around the Shoulder, Scapular Fractures After Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty, and more.
