The first and only of its kind the museum highlights the story of 1950-1970 South Carolina’s civil rights movement and leaders through the photographs and experiences of Cecil Williams, an award winning and nationally recognized photographer. Mr. Williams work spans throughout the 1950’s and 60’s. This impressive collection includes unique historical exhibits, photos, artifacts and documents not found elsewhere; In particular, the Briggs Family Bible, and unique artifacts and photos from the Orangeburg Massacre.
