With a diverse background of structural design experience, Kyzer & Timmerman has the capability to provide design services for a wide range of projects. For over fifteen years, Kyzer & Timmerman has maintained two fully-staffed offices. The main office is located in Columbia, South Carolina, with a satellite office located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Each office employs registered professional engineers in addition to drafting and support staff. The company prides itself on being a small business with a family-like atmosphere. Many employees have been with the company for ten years or more. Both partners of the firm are Professional Engineers holding Masters degrees in Engineering. The staff includes diverse, skilled design and drafting teams. Kyzer & Timmerman uses today's technology including current versions of AutoCad among a variety of other design programs. Kyzer & Timmerman has provided structural consulting for a variety of projects throughout the Eastern United States. The majority of the company's projects have been completed in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. The firm is registered in nineteen states, in all of which, they have completed projects. States of licensure include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC, and Wisconsin. Kenneth W. Timmerman, P.E. is managing partner of the firm. Ken was an honor student for eight years in college while earning three degrees in Civil Engineering - Associate in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Science in Civil Enginneering, and Masters of Science in Civil Engineering. He was president of Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering Honor Society while at the University of South Carolina. Ken is credited with the procurement and production of college athletic department work that has led to football stadium and other athletic facilities projects. He is also credited with furnishing the forward-looking attitude and innovations that have led to the design sophistication that our clients have come to expect from us. Ken's awards include being selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America for his professional achievement, superior leadership ability and exceptional service to the community. He served two years as a Certified Training Instructor for the Lexington County Fire Service and was selected as "Volunteer Fireman of the Year" by the Lexington County Fire Department. Ashleigh B. Weatherly, P.E. former Himelright Scholar and Daniel Foundation Scholar, joined the company after compiling an impressive list of academic superlatives. Among these are his cum laude graduate school performance and his Chi Epsilon Honor Society membership while an undergraduate and graduate student. Buford Goff & Associates, based in Columbia, S.C., was founded in 1969 as an engineering consulting firm. BGA has four interdependent engineering divisions that are mechanical, electrical, security and communications. The company employs a staff of more than 40 people, which includes registered engineers, designers and administrative personnel. The firm maintains professional registration in more than 30 states and is a member of the National Council of Engineering Examiners and the National Society of Professional Engineers. The mechanical and electrical divisions provide engineering services for a wide variety of projects, which include health care, correctional, institutional, high-rise commercial buildings and educational facilities.
