Arcadia Publishing is one of the leading local history publishers in the United States, and has its corporate office in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Established in 1993, it has a catalog of more than 3,000 titles in print, and hundreds of new titles released every year. It uses state-of-the-art technology to create quality historical publications, in small local niches. The company is best known for its popular Images of America series, which chronicles the history of communities from Bangor, Maine, to Manhattan Beach in California. With more than 200 vintage black-and-white photographs, each title celebrates a town or region, bringing to life the people, places and events that define the community.
