Gleamns Human Resources Commision is a nonprofit charitable organization founded in 1966. The organization serves more than 9,000 low-income families in Greenwood, Laurens, Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda Counties in South Carolina. It provides educational, childhood development and nutritional services. The organization offers medical, dental and mental health care services for migrant and seasonal infants, toddlers and preschool children. Gleamns Human Resources Commision receives funds from federal, state and local governments for various programs that include workforce development, child development, low income heating energy assistance and weatherization. The organization is governed by a board of commissioners. Gleamns Human Resources Commision is a member of the National Association of Community Action Agencies.
