Neil McDevitt, MD, began his career as a general surgeon and chose to specialize in bariatric surgery because of the gratitude he received from his weight-loss patients. He was rewarded by the happiness he found sharing in his patients victories, and the potential he saw for improving the quality of their lives. Before establishing his practice in Summerville, S.C., Dr. McDevitt served as Director of Bariatric Services for Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
