Adrian Claudiu Balica, MD

Phillip J. Prest, DO, FACOS, FACS, received his undergraduate degree in English from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and after completing graduate work at Drexel University in Philadelphia, he completed medical school and a general surgery residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in trauma and critical care at Emory University/Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Prest is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in both general surgery and surgical critical care, and is a fellow in both the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. As an assistant professor of clinical surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, he is actively engaged in educating medical students, surgical residents and surgical critical care fellows. He is co-director of the surgical clerkship and co-director of the trauma research committee. He is actively engaged in multiple research projects with topics ranging from surgical nutrition to better aligning patient expectations and the delivery of care. Additionally, he has helped lead “Stop the Bleed” efforts throughout the Midlands of South Carolina by facilitating multiple courses aimed at training non-medical individuals in basic bleeding control techniques.

Jeremy M. Reeves, MD, FACS, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency and a fellowship in surgical critical care at Prisma Health Richland Hospital and the University of South Carolina, and then joined Prisma Health Surgery and the UofSC Division of Trauma/Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery. Dr. Reeves serves as the Trauma Medical Director for the Prisma Health Richland Level I Trauma Center and holds a clinical assistant professor appointment with the University of South Carolina Department of Surgery. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.

Mike Goble, DO, is a primary care internal medicine physician with Prisma Health in Columbia. Dr. Goble earned his medical degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and completed his residency training at Prisma Health.He is involved in the education of medical students and residents in the primary care setting. He enjoys collaborating with his patients to help them achieve their specific health goals. When he is not at work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and is an active participant in his faith community.
