Solon-Martha Dixon Foundation
The Solon-Martha Dixon Foundation in Andalusia, AL has been making a significant impact on Southern Preparatory Academy for over six decades. Solon Dixon, a graduate of the Southern Industrial Institute, and his wife Martha were dedicated to advancing the academic and religious aspects of the academy. Solon Dixon, a pioneer in the forestry industry, donated over 5000 acres to Auburn University in 1980, which now serves as the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center. Through the foundation, Auburn University and Southern Prep have collaborated to provide a flight simulator for cadets enrolled in the aviation program, among other academic initiatives. The legacy of Solon and Martha Dixon continues to thrive at Southern Prep.
