Established in 1892, Family Resources Community Action is one of the oldest child serving and family support organizations in Rhode Island. It serves low-income families and offers developmental day care, residential options, foster care, mental health counseling and early childhood services. The organization provides services through its early childhood, housing and shelter, child welfare, employment and training, counseling and family support, and HIV and AIDS support services divisions. It offers various services to low-income families and individuals, such as food distribution, emergency housing assistance, medical care and clothing. The organization also offers weekly counseling visits, case management, group therapies, psychiatric evaluations, psychopharmacological assessments, and drug and alcohol screenings.
