Northeast CT Economic Alliance

The Northeast CT Economic Alliance, Inc is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) non-profit organization that provides loans and business development resources to both existing and start-up manufacturing and service companies in northeastern Connecticut that are seeking to expand, diversify, retain business or improve operations. We have loan money available for businesses primarily in Windham County and certain towns in Tolland and New London counties. Click to view the 21 towns that we serve. We assess companies' financing requirements and capabilities ; determine appropriate and available financing resources ; package loans ; guide companies through the financing process and loan closings ; and accomplish the post-financing business implementation. The Northeast Alliance is the only agency of its kind that is based in northeastern Connecticut and is devoted to economic development in the 21-town region. Our share of the total lending market is a small but essential part of regional economic development. We provide loans to businesses that have been unable to secure credit through conventional sources. Our assistance addresses a critical problem facing many small businesses in northeastern Connecticut: access to business credit. Many small businesses are unable to obtain a business loan to get started or expand, primarily due to lack of sufficient collateral or sufficient cash flow from operations to service a loan ( based on historical data ). The Northeast Alliance is made up of an Executive Director, an Associate Director, a Board of Directors, and a small professional staff. Our main office is located in the regional Business Outreach Center located at Eastern Connecticut State University in Windham.
