The Boston Home, based in Dorchester, Mass., is a nonprofit, 96-bed nursing care facility for adults with physical disabilities, multiple sclerosis and neurological diseases. The hospital was established in 1881 and offers various services, including medical and dental services, nursing, social and rehabilitation programs. Its services also include toileting, feeding, dressing, physical and occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, and mental health consultants. The hospital also provides various activities, such as assistive technology; and recreational, cultural and educational programs by the therapeutic recreation department of the hospital. The hospital offers a wide variety of facilities, including wireless door and elevator access, overhead lifts, ergonomic shower chairs, remote control fitted resident rooms.
