Friendship Lodge
Friendship Lodge, located in Chepachet, RI, is recognized as the first freshwater lodge in the state and potentially the first in the country, established to serve Masons in the northwestern corner of Rhode Island who lacked a convenient meeting place. Founded in 1800, it was created by a group of local men seeking to formalize their own lodge away from the coastal lodges that previously dominated the region.
The lodge meets monthly, traditionally aligned with the full moon, except during July and August, and is dedicated to fostering fraternity and community service. Friendship Lodge commemorates its rich history and ongoing commitment to the community with events such as the upcoming 225-year dedication ceremony.
