The Sunday service and the weekly sermon are the centerpieces of church life. We have strong concern for ethical and social issues and want to hear them addressed in the pulpit. We are proud of our large Religious Education program for children and youth and have an active Adult Education program. Our programs, services, religious education offerings and vision for the future reflect these values. First Unitarian Church of Providence is a safe harbor that welcomes liberal religious seekers. With intention, energy, commitment and love, the people of this diverse faith community gather to: More than one thousand congregations make up the Unitarian Universalist Association ( UUA ), which represents our interests on a continental scale. An important part of our Unitarian Universalist tradition is the democratic process. Many important decisions, including calling our ministers, are made by the membership.
