Elmhurst Extended Care is a 190-plus-bed facility that provides rehabilitation and after-surgery services for senior citizens. It is one of the leading nursing centers in Rhode Island. The community is accredited by The Joint Commission. Elmhurst Extended Care also serves as a training site for Providence College and Rhode Island College. Founded in 1989, it is a member of the Rhode Island Health Care Association, the Ocean State Post Acute Network, and Rhode Island Quality Partners. The community also provides 24-hour long-term residential solutions. Elmhurst Extended Care offers physical, occupational, speech respiratory therapies. Nurses aren't too attentive... must ask over and over for scheduled meds, drink of water or just a Tylenol. My father was there recovering from having falls... and was considered a "fall risk"......
