About We are a former American Optical laboratory that was opened in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1924. In 1984 eight employees purchased the lab and Allentown Optical was formed. Our president from 1984 to 2000 was Michael Gassler, who has sixty-four years of optical experience and remains involved in the business as a director. Our president since 2000 is Craig Walck. Joe Felker, VP, worked in the optical busines since 1980, has completed training as a computer and electronic technician and associates degree in computer science.
