The Washington Monument in Philadelphia, designed by artist Rudolf Siemering and unveiled in 1897, serves as a tribute to General George Washington, commemorating his leadership during the War of Independence. Originally located in Fairmount Park, the monument was relocated in 1928 to its current position at the terminus of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
