Universal Protective Packaging (UPPI) is one of the industry leaders in thermoformed protective packaging. Its business is the design, creation and production of packaging for retail, industrial, electronics and medical industry. Since the company s founding in 1983, UPPI has grown into a worldwide developer, manufacturer and marketer of specialized, custom thermoformed plastic packaging. UPPI now boasts two facilities doing business in nearly 50 states and more than 20 countries worldwide. Corporate headquarters is based in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and a second fully operational manufacturing facility is in the heart of Silicon Valley in Morgan Hill, Calif. UPPI-Mechanicsburg has been the home of the company since 1992. The company s flagship facility contains 68,000 square feet of office, manufacturing and warehouse space. The Mechanicsburg operation possesses several high-speed, in-line thermoformers. UPPI-California opened in July 1999. Located south of San Jose, Calif., Universal Protective Packaging s high-speed thermoforming machines are in constant production.
