United States Government Nuclear Regulatory Commission

The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission is responsible for formulation policies and developing regulations for the governance of nuclear reactor and material safety. The commission also adjudicates legal matters and issues orders to licensees. It ensures the safety of commercial use of nuclear materials in the United States, as well as conducts inspection, enforce and emergency responses programs. The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission operates through offices of international programs, commission appellate adjudication, international programs and public affairs. The agency provides policymaking, radio protection, fire protection and emergency preparedness services. It supports U.S. interests in the safe and secure use of nuclear materials.
