Chartered in 1967, TWFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, democratically owned and run by its members. Transit Workers Federal Credit Union was chartered to serve employees of Philadelphia Transportation Company now know as SEPTA, employees of Transport Workers Union Local 234, retirees who retain membership in the credit union ; employees of the credit union ; members of their immediate families and organization of such persons.
