History

I began my business as a Shiatsu practice in 1986. Most of my clients were treated in salon and health club environments. In 1992 my practice began to integrate conscious breathwork and creative imagery techniques. I went into private practice in 1992, largely as a word-of-mouth, cottage industry. Having established a broad client base, I opened the doors of Alternative Healing in October of 1998. Continuously seeking to embellish effective healing tools, yoga, Reiki, and astrology were integrated into the office menu. Much of my work now addresses the needs of special interest groups. I create body/mind programs including yoga, meditation, and healing practices for children, elders, PWPD, and on-site office populations. Special programs are created to suit the needs of specific physical conditions and school objectives for skills development. Personal appointments are currently available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Specialties

Shiatsu Massage, synthesizes elements of Thai Yoga Bodywork with acupressure, experienced on a futon as well as a massage table. Reiki, a non-manipulative, hands-on therapy, is sometimes called neuro-muscular re-education. It enables a coordinated healing among energetic tendencies of the mind and heart with the healing of physical tissue. Psychological Astrology, non-predictive and analytic in it's approach to personal discovery. Yoga, a physical practice which is taught to therapeutically dissolve distortion of skeletal alignment, muscular distress, and personal stress. Private sessions and group work are available by appointment. Special Programs are custom designed to fit the needs of any group. Yoga for elders, for children, for PWPD, and for other special interest groups are available by contract agreement.
