Timothy P Dougherty, MD

Dr. Karlovits is a radiation oncologist with expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and brachytherapy. He specializes in treating tumors of the central nervous system. Prior to joining AHN, Dr. Karlovits practiced as the hyperbaric medical officer at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, Illinois, where he was a decorated physician with a Navy SEAL training detachment. He also serves as the AHN Radiation Oncology Division Director of the central nervous system tumor and information technology programs and director of the AHN Radiation Oncology Residency Program.

Dr. Bindu V. Rusia is a radiation oncology specialist, dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and compassion to her patients in Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania. She specializes in head, neck, and breast malignancies, and has a general practice treating a wide variety of malignancies. Dr. Rusia received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she graduated at the top of her class with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She went on to complete her radiation oncology training at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute. Dr. Rusia has authored over 10 textbook chapters and over 20 peer-reviewed published articles about head and neck, breast, and lung cancer. She has presented her research at a number of national and international radiation oncology society meetings. She is also a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology and Physics.

Dr. Wagner specializes in the surgical treatment of digestive and complex abdominal tumors, including esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, liver, colorectal, and appendix cancers. He cares for patients with metastatic cancer, including liver and peritoneal metastases, as well as patients with rare tumor types such as sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Wagner serves as the director of Complex General Surgical Oncology at Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and completed surgical and pathology residencies at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York. He completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Wagner is certified both by the American Board of Surgery and by the American Board of Pathology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology. He prioritizes patient-centered, individualized care planning in his clinical practice, and emphasizes minimally invasive approaches, including robotic surgery whenever possible. Dr. Wagner strives to make innovative treatment options available to patients with complex cancers through translational research and clinical trials.
