The Swope Manor Bed & Breakfast is a historic home built in 1836. The original owner of the house George Swope, was the president of Gettysburg National Bank, president of the Gettysburg Railroad, president of the Gettysburg Water Authority, and the president of the Gettysburg Turn Pike commission. He was the wealthiest man in Gettysburg. The main house is 8,700 square feet and has 13 guests rooms, all with private baths. The entire house is decorated in a Victorian Style. The detached carriage house is another 3,300 square feet with 2 additional guests rooms with private baths, and a 2 Bedroom apartment. Each room has its own bathroom, some of our bathrooms have jetted tubs, some have soaking tubs, tub / shower combinations, and some have walk in showers. All beds in the bed and breakfast our queen size or larger. All rooms are well appointed with modern amenities. A full hot breakfast is served each morning. The Inn also has a coffee and Tea bar with cookies available 24 hours / day. The Inn has several common rooms available to all guests, 2 parlors, 2 dining rooms, a lounge with bar, and a library. The Inn also has a large outside seating with 2 tables able to accommodate up to 12 people and a gas firepit.
