The Regal Ballroom

History

Once the neighborhood single screen theatre from 1935 - 1968 now hosts a variety of special occasions and events. Christopher Angeli, the proprietor started his career in these very walls as a dishwasher at the age of 12. In 1999 he took ownership of the Regal Ballroom and has since turned it into one of Philadelphia's Premier Wedding & Event Venues.

Our beautifully-appointed lobby welcomes your guests into a contemporary lounge setting, with plush seating, ambient lighting and the warmth of an inviting fireplace. The grand Ballroom boasts 30-foot ceilings, custom architectural details and lavish crystal chandeliers. Built in the early 1900's, the Ballroom once housed a Vaudeville theater, the Regal Movie Theatre, and later a series of catering facilities. The Ballroom was renamed the Regal Ballroom in 2005, when long-time employee, Christopher (Chris) Angeli, took ownership. At the age of 12, Chris joined the Ballroom as a dishwasher, walking just a few blocks to work from his childhood home in the neighborhood.
