Liberty Resources Academy aims to assist people who have never worked before and provides core business training, including operation of basic office equipment, reading and written communication skills, basic mathematics and calculator use, beginning and advanced computer skills and resume and interview development. The academy has three classrooms and two learning labs with more than 25 Dell computer workstations. It provides extensive assistive technology for computer access, including several types of mice, microphones, synthesizers and a wide range of specialized assistive software. It was established by Liberty Resources, which is an organization run by and for persons with disabilities that assists persons with a wide variety of disabilities to achieve and maintain independent lifestyles. Liberty Resources Academy is located in Philadelphia.

Established in 1974, 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund is an educational institution that provides a range of job skill training services to more than 2,000 students. Located in Philadelphia, it employs over 60 part-time and nearly 30 full-time staff members. The institution is affiliated with the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees. It also offers various college credit and degree programs in health care and human services. The institution provides foundation, computer, vocational, educational pathways, and college preparatory and partnership programs. It organizes test preparatory and career development workshops, as well as conducts several events, including Sharing Our Heritage. In addition, 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund offers scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs.

The American Friends Service Committee carries out service, development, social justice and peace programs throughout the world. AFSC was founded by Quakers in 1917 to provide conscientious objectors with an opportunity to aid civilian war victims. In 1947, the organization accepted the Nobel Peace Prize with the British Friends Service Council on behalf of all Quakers.
