Creative Play Day School

It is the purpose of Creative Play Day School to provide its students with a loving and safe environment that will set the stage for emotional, social and intellectual growth. As teachers, we believe that by forming partnerships with those in our care, we can encourage and enhance active learning. We further believe that each child must become an active participant in the learning process. We seek to help every child reach their individual potential and give expression to their own unique gifts through a holistic approach to early childhood education. CPDS prides itself on our different approach to the field of early childhood education. Unlike many preschools, we are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and each of our lead teachers holds a minimum of a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. This assures parents that our staff has a firm understanding of human development and age appropriate practices. This understanding is incorporated into every level of our program as our teachers develop, prepare and implement lesson plans following our self-developed and state approved curriculum. Each of our programs goes beyond traditional circle time and arts and crafts. All educational themes are presented in a manner that promotes student involvement, because this has been proven to be the most effective way for preschoolers to learn. New ideas and concepts are conveyed through music, movement, imagination, finger play, role-play, games and most of all, fun. The crafts and art activities are chosen not only to be creative and fun, but also to aid in the development of motor skills, eye-hand coordination, visual discrimination and many other stages of development. For many of our children, this is a first experience in a school environment and our goal is for them to enjoy the experience and develop a lifetime love of learning. We believe that children must be provided a safe, nurturing and accepting environment in order to grow and learn. Our entire staff is dedicated to ensuring every child in our care has a positive education experience.
