Edu-Care Services Inc

EDU-CARE SERVICES, INC ( ECS ) is the collective commitment of our combined personnel towards meeting the specialized educational "learning and fun" supply needs of parents, teachers, schools and institutions AND seeking their satisfaction. This collective commitment has been a steady thread since 1970 and has been exercised by a variety of committed persons over these 30 years. The origins spring from the parent company EDU-CARE SERVICES, INC who pioneered early childhood education in Central Pennsylvania in the 1970's and who sought to provide specialized equipment, supplies and teaching materials initially to pre-schools and early childhood educators. EDU-CARE SCHOOL SUPPLY was created from this beginning and subsequently acquired a public school instructional materials supplier and expanded into a full service catalog supplier with a commitment to specialized attention and satisfaction of its customers. As the industry and choice of materials expanded, ECS pioneered the hands-on "retail" availability of these specialized teaching materials to teachers and parents by creating THE LEARNING SOURCE, the first such area facility where teachers and parents could "browse" the actual materials to decide how best to meet their specific interests. This concept was well received, and it has expanded in concept and size over the years to continue to meet this specialized need. A core component of this collective commitment was the requirement of staff with teacher training and experience in order to meet the specific needs of parents and teachers alike. ECS has also changed to meet the need of the times. In the 80's we pioneered the introduction of computers into the classroom AND the training of teachers in the use of software. At that time THE LEARNING SOURCE had training and preview carrels in the store. Since then as schools have developed their own specialists, that focus has shifted but we are proud of the role we played in this important process. As mentioned the collective commitment is really just a great group of people who at each point in time over the years have shared the commitment to provide their personal skills and energies toward the important goal of improving education... one person at a time.
