256 S 16th St
Philadelphia, PA 19102
The DWIGHT D, a city house hotel, is Philly’s original, and most loved boutique hotel. Located on 16th Street, just below Locust St., in center city Philadelphia, PA. Why the name? The property was formerly the headquarters for The Eisenhower Fellowships organization. Over 60 years ago Dwight D himself requested a Philly location for the newly founded organization bearing his name and 256 S 16th St was selected. Today we remember their time at this address with our name, The DWIGHT D. The DD offers luxury accommodations in an historic 1850s brownstone which was completely remodeled in 2014 and underwent a second round of renovation in 2020. The DWIGHT D's location in the heart of Philadelphia makes it an ideal hotel destination for both tourists and business travelers-the hotel is two blocks from The Avenue of the Arts and The Kimmel Center, two blocks from Rittenhouse Square, and within walking proximity to The Philadelphia Convention Center, Philadelphia's historic district including Independence Mall and the Liberty Bell, and Philadelphia's visual arts district including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, and the Rodin Museum. The DWIGHT D has 11 guest rooms each with a private bathroom in various sizes from Queen to King to a large King Suite. The hotel also features adjoining restaurants La Viola and Monk's Cafe, a lounge, conference room, private dining room, and large landscaped courtyard. The DWIGHT D is the perfect place to host group get-a-way weekends combining hotel accommodations with theater, shopping, spa, and dining excursions. In addition to room accommodations, the DWIGHT D offers unique options including rental of the property as a whole to sleep up to 22 or rental of event and venue space.
