Tabor Lutheran Church
Tabor Lutheran Church, established in 1898 by German immigrants in Philadelphia, PA, has evolved into a diverse worship community representing various cultural backgrounds, including European, African, Latin, and Asian descent. With a deep commitment to Lutheran theology, Tabor focuses on sharing God's grace through the gospel and sacraments while actively serving the Feltonville neighborhood.
In September 2019, Tabor launched Katie's Cupboard, a food pantry that has rapidly expanded its reach during the pandemic, currently assisting around 180-200 households weekly. Led by Pastor Jane Marston, who is also involved in the Southeast Pennsylvania Synod's Anti-Racism Team, the church celebrated its 125th anniversary in October 2023, reflecting its enduring legacy and dedication to community service.
