Suhail K. Kanchwala, MD

Dr. Anupama Shahane, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. She joined Penn Medicine after completing her rheumatology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. With over 15 years of experience, she is recognized annually in Philadelphia magazine's Top Docs issue since 2018. Her clinical interests are in inflammatory arthritis, with specific focus on rheumatoid arthritis, patients receiving immunotherapy, and patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Her research interest focuses on the screening and treatment of osteoporosis, and she serves as the Director of the Penn Osteoporosis Program. She is passionate about education and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship where she runs the mentorship program. She has served in several roles locally and nationally including the American College of Rheumatology, Philadelphia Rheumatology Society and Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society. Out of the hospital, she enjoys exploring the many outdoor adventures that the Philadelphia region has to offer with her husband and three boys.

Daqing Li, MD, is a physician scientist and serves as professor and attending physician within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Penn Medicine. Dr. Li specializes in otology and neurotology and has a special interest in complex ear and ear related diseases. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Li has published more than 70 peer reviewed papers and more than 100 abstracts on the topics of his professional clinical and research areas. His research has been long substantially funded by the National Institute of Health and other organizations. He serves as editor-in-chief, editor and editorial board members in international professional journals. Dr. Li is a fellow of American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.

I have expertise in epilepsy, epilepsy neuroimaging, electroencephalography (EEG), and the presurgical evaluation of epilepsy patients. I am the Director of the Penn Epilepsy Center. In addition, I serve as medical director of Penn's Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Epilepsy Surgical Program. In addition, my research lab focuses on advancing the fields of invasive neurophysiology and neuroimaging to better localize epileptic networks in medication refractory epilepsy patients. It is my hope that improving localization will enable epileptologists to better assign individual patients to the most efficacious therapy, for example, seizure control devices, resective surgery, or continued medical management.
