Dr. Helene Glassberg treats a wide range of cardiovascular diseases at Penn Medicine and has a special interest in both preventive cardiology and sports cardiology. She specializes in the prevention of heart disease with a focus on risk assessment, cholesterol management and lifestyle modification. She is a lecturer for the Cardiovascular Pathophysiology course at the Perelman School of Medicine and also teaches a "Diet and Exercise" class. She has conducted research on the effects of diet and exercise on vascular function and has had several publications on this topic. Dr. Glassberg also has expertise in echocardiography. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her daughter, running, and spending time with her family. Lorraine A.T. Boakye, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in operative and non-operative treatment of foot and ankle conditions from young adolescents to adult patients. She remained in Pittsburgh to complete her residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. While there, she served in numerous education and leadership roles, including administrative chief resident. She then completed her orthopedic subspecialty fellowship training in foot and ankle at Harvard/Brigham and Women’s Hospital and in Boston, Massachusetts. She is recipient of the 2023 RJOS Courage Award. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Boakye is active in academic research, publishing many articles, abstracts, and book chapters on Achilles tendon pathology, foot and ankle trauma, sports injuries, patient reported outcomes and sustainability in medicine. She is passionate about serving the diverse patient population of Philadelphia. Penn Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) work together to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
