State College Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with other practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, an in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.
Getting a puppy is exciting, and we want to be there with you every step of the way. Your puppy's first exam should be scheduled when the puppy is between 7-8 weeks old. We will do a comprehensive exam and we recommend checking a stool sample for parasites. Our vaccine protocol is based on your own pet and their lifestyle. Not every dog gets vaccinated for everything. We start with vaccinating most animals for distemper. Once they reach 12 weeks of age, then we vaccinate for Rabies. Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Canine Flu are advised for any dog that does the following: kennels, dog shows, goes to the groomer, goes to the dog park or obedience lessons. Lyme Vaccine can be done for animals that are at high risk; however we usually separate them from the puppy series. During your first visit to our office, our caring doctors will go over which vaccine protocol would be best for your pet based on their lifestyle. Please call our office to set an appointment for your new family member.

I wish I could give them more than five stars! We took our Labrador there and she is a scaredy cat. She is very timid. They did an outstanding job with her! All the ladies who helped trim her...

These two veterinarians are unfriendly and incompetent! The older lady (Kocher) is cranky and snappy. She needs to learn better social skills if she wants to work in a people-oriented job like...

Doctors and staff are kind, courteous and professional and have taken great care of my fur babies. We have been clients for well over a decade.

I've also now used this business for a medical exam for my cat and I'm even more sold on them. Both the veterinarian, Dr. Blizzard, and the vet tech, Jessie, were knowledgeable and helpful,...
