We are a small Lutheran church serving ( mostly ) students from any and all of the colleges and universities in Pittsburgh. It is closest to the, Carlow University, and Chatham University, but all are welcome. We also have several members who are not students. Pastor Scott KuechenmeisterHall is the Campus Pastor. Lutheran University Center is located at 4515 Forbes Ave. in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, PA. The LUC is located between South Dithridge St. and South Craig St., right across from the main entrance to the Carnegie Art Museum. We are a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America ( ELCA ) and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. However, we have students from almost all synods of Lutheran Church. Choral Prayer at the Close of the Day sung by the Pittsburgh Compline Choir is an ecumenical ministry of Lutheran Campus Ministry in Greater Pittsburgh and First Lutheran Church of Downtown Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Compline Choir, under the direction of Alastair Stout, is an ecumenical and volunteer group. The choir has been singing Compline since 1989 in Heinz Chapel. They are students, teachers, clergy and church musicians from Greater Pittsburgh. Singers interested in chant and in singing in the compline choir are invited to speak with.
