SPHS Behavioral Health

SPHS Behavioral Health, an affiliate agency of Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services, administers a variety of programs that targets substance abuse and mental health issues. SPHS Behavioral Health has been providing intervention and treatment services for more than 25 years. Founded in 1984, Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services conducts strategic planning, develops programs and provides community services throughout southwestern Pennsylvania through its affiliates. The parent organization and its affiliates maintain more than 50 service locations and employs over 700 professionals and support staff members. It coordinates various family planning, primary care, early intervention, and women s, infant s and children s nutrition programs. Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services mental health program includes clinical, partial hospitalization and residential services.

Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health/Mental Retardation is a health care organization that serves people with special needs. Located in Braddock, Pa., it offers individualized services to prevent, promote and sustain recovery among people who suffer from mental illnesses and addictive disorders. The organization provides a range of day and vocational support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health/Mental Retardation also offers services for developing life skills in the areas of stress management, conflict resolution and family relationships. Established in 1980, it provides psychiatric and social rehabilitation, as well as case management services. The organization additionally features youth mentoring, supported employment and housing, and consulting, prevention and education services. Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health/Mental Retardation features anger management, underage drinking, and tobacco prevention and cessation programs.
