The company s facility consists of a contaminated-material storage building, medium-temperature thermal processing unit, on-site laboratory and administrative office, as well as temporary storage unit for treated materials. Its processing plant is comprised of a rotary dryer to remove contaminants from the soil; thermal oxidizer for hydrocarbon destruction; evaporative cooler to reduce the air temperature; and baghouse to remove dust from the flue gas. The company handles a variety of volatile and semivolatile contaminants ranging from gasoline and alcohols to organic acids and coal tar residuals. Clean Earth of Southeast Pennsylvania is a part of Clean Earth, which is one of the largest processors of contaminated soil, dredge sediments and other nonhazardous materials in the United States.
