Schantz Haus, the historic homestead of Josef Schantz, founder of Johnstown, PA, is now a working farm operated by Bill and Jeanette Hunsberger along with two of their sons. Situated on 120 acres, the farm features woodlands, pastures, cropland, and houses a diverse array of livestock including 150 Black Angus cattle and a small flock of Bluefaced Leicester Gotland sheep.
In addition to the farm's operations, which encompass approximately 1,500 acres of beans, corn, wheat, and hay, Schantz Haus provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about Johnstown's history and experience life on a working farm. The location is easily accessible off Route 219 and is near several sites of historical significance.
