Saint Mary's Orthodox Church
St. Mary's Orthodox Church of Philadelphia was established on May 11, 1991, as a parish under the Northeast American Diocese, conducting its first Holy Qurbana at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The parish acquired its current building in 2000, which was consecrated shortly after, and has since been served by several dedicated vicars, including the current vicar, Rev. Fr. Dr. Samuel K. Mathew.
The church community comprises families from Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, united in their faith and fellowship. St. Mary's celebrates the legacy of its former vicars and continues to thrive under the guidance of the current Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, while honoring the memory of their late Metropolitan, His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas.
