Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a private nonprofit organization with a statewide network of more than 60 domestic violence programs across the United States. The organization, based in Harrisburg, Pa., offers advocacy services for women who face battering and domestic violence. It promotes safety and justice for victim women. Founded in 1976, the organization is one of the oldest state domestic violence coalitions. It operates a variety of projects to protect women, including battered women s justices, media advocacy, protection from abuse, temporary assistance for needy families and technical assistance programs. The organization s online resource center and library provide a wide collection of electronic resources on domestic and sexual violence and related issues for state coalitions as well as allied national organizations and individuals working to end violence against women and children. It offers specialized training and resources to its staff for developing and enhancing skills of domestic violence program.
