BHSI, also known as Behavioral Health Special Initiative program, is administered by the Philadelphia Mental Health Care Corporation. The program offers funding support, assessment and referral services to individuals with substance abuse problems. It also conducts clinical background checkups for people with mental health issues. BHSI operates an intensive case management unit that provides public education programs at health fairs and community organizations. The program offers service planning, goal setting, linking, monitoring, advocacy and coaching solutions through the Office of Addiction Services Case Management Unit. It conducts clinical evaluations for forensic clients and identifies community-based treatment sites. BHSI works with the Forensic Intensive Recovery Program.
