Enjoy a family experience that fosters understanding, respect, and appreciation of wildlife with a visit to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. Winding through 77 acres, the Zoo starts with Forest Passage, where you will be introduced to lynx, tigers, and red pandas. Journey up the hill to take in the scenic view of the African Savanna, with favorites like elephants and giraffes. Be sure to meet our new lion pride! Take a trip to the Islands and get an eye to eye view of warty pigs, Philippine crocodiles, and clouded leopards. Venture into the Jungle for an Odyssey of fun where you’ll discover our giant anteater, the elusive fossa, and the pygmy hippo, before heading to our aquarium and Water’s Edge, home of our polar bear and sea otters. While the animals were a joy to see, the zoo layout and high food/drink prices make this an only okay zoo for me. I recently moved here and have been making my way through some museums/parks/etc....

Pretty hilly walking zoo; aquarium is about midway through it. Make sure you check the map midway through since if you don't plan properly, you could miss some of it. The above water/under water...

The entrance is currently under construction but there were several employees posted along the way directing guests. Once inside I was very excited to see the Halloween decorations coming up....
