D.G. Yuengling & Son, is one of the largest and oldest breweries in the United States. Its principal beer brands include Traditional Lager, Light Lager, Premium, Premium Light, Black and Tan, Dark Brewed Porter, and Lord Chesterfield Ale. The company was founded in 1829 and is headquartered in Pottsville, Pa. It operates two manufacturing plants in Pottsville and an additional plant in Tampa, Fla. The brewery distributes its products in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Yuengling is not able to ship beer directly to consumers due to Liquor Control Board laws. The Yuengling Spring House is located approximately 5 blocks from the brewery and was once the main source of water for the brewery. Yuengling uses approximately 300,000 gallons of water per day.
