Paramount Pictures Film Exchange Building
1727 Blvd of the Allies
Pittsburgh, PA 15219
The Paramount Film Exchange in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a historic building designed in 1926 by R. E. Hall Co. architects from New York City. In 2010, local entrepreneurs founded Paramount Film Exchange PFEX, Inc., to redevelop the abandoned building in a historically sensitive manner.
Once a hub for renting and trading motion pictures, the Paramount Film Exchange played a significant role in Pittsburgh's film history. After a contentious battle over historic preservation, the building was granted landmark designation by the City of Pittsburgh in 2010.
