The Oxford Cemetery, established in 1855, is located just south of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Originally founded by local citizens to provide a new resting place after the arrival of the railroad, it spans 31.4 acres of land that was purchased from W.A. Irwin.
After operating for over a century and a half, the cemetery was officially transferred to the City of Oxford on January 1, 2023, following a decision by the board of directors due to financial challenges. The cemetery holds a rich history, including notable burials and a chapel built in 1870 for seasonal interments.
