Norris Square Park
Norris Square Park, located in the Kensington area of North Philadelphia, spans 5.8 acres and was established on land donated by Isaac Norris for public use. Designed originally based on William Rush's layout of Franklin Square, the park features a symmetrical design with geometric patterns of lawn and pathways converging on a central circular green.
Over the years, Norris Square Park has undergone several transformations, including the addition of a water feature in the 1880s and revitalization efforts by the Norris Square Neighborhood Project in the 1970s. Today, it retains its historic character, flanked by residential buildings and shaded by mature sycamore, oak, and maple trees.
