Located at the Children's Specialty Center, this dedicated space for children offers a caring, kid-friendly environment where our specialty-trained team treats children who are receiving cancer care. We also treat children with blood disorders including:-Anemia and sickle cell disease-Immunodeficiency disorders like HIV/AIDS-Iron disorders like hemochromatosis-Juvenile arthritis-Crohn's disease and inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS)We treat cancers and other blood conditions by offering infusions of:-Biologic medications-Chemotherapy drugs-Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs)-Iron or drugs that remove excess iron-Immunoglobulins (antibodies that support the immune system)-Immunosuppressants-Systemic steroidsThe Children's Cancer and Multipurpose Infusion Center is designed for kids, teens and young adults to receive infusion therapy comfortably. It features:-Four infusion bays, each with a gaming system-equipped TV to help pass the time and ease treatment anxiety-A central play area for kids-Two negative pressure/isolation infusion rooms for children who have a weakened immune system or can't be exposed to an open infusion bay environment-Four exam rooms-A room where procedures like lumbar punctures can be performed for the patient's and parents' convenience-A dedicated family resource room offering storage lockers, educational materials and computers-A teen game room with an infusion chair and a gaming system geared toward teens or young adults-A painted column and lighting installation - Tree of Life - created by the nonprofit organization Splashes of Hope A service of Lehigh Valley Hospital.,
