The Neece family has been in business in the Williamsport area since 1823. Some time later, they built the Country Store in Pennsdale, moving back to Williamsport after the Civil War, and founding Neece Paper Co about 1870. It was originally located less than a block from Market Square, and began by providing supplies and packaging to the farmers who drove their horse drawn wagons to Williamsport's
