The Museum of Indian Culture, founded in 1980, is a volunteer-run non-profit dedicated to preserving and sharing the authentic histories and cultural heritage of Native American peoples, particularly those from the Northeast. The museum serves as a resource center for education, offering a variety of exhibits, programs, and community events that highlight Native American cultures from across the western hemisphere.
Through partnerships with federally recognized Indigenous Nations, including a collaboration with the Delaware Nation, the museum aims to enhance public awareness of local Lenape history and contemporary culture. Its diverse collection includes artifacts, cultural items, and interactive exhibits, providing visitors with a comprehensive understanding of Native American life and artistry.
