Mon Valley Initiative

Mon Valley Initiative, founded in 1988, is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in the Mon Valley area by rebuilding community infrastructure and connecting job seekers with employers. The organization focuses on strengthening the region through responsible investments in both people and places, offering career and financial coaching as well as developing residential and commercial properties.

Since 2013, Mon Valley Initiative has significantly impacted the community, serving over 29,000 people and investing $61 million in development projects. Their rental portfolio includes more than 160 income-restricted residential units across Allegheny, Washington, and Westmoreland counties, welcoming Housing Choice Vouchers and Section 8 assistance.
