Aaron Hellman, PA-C Aaron Hellman, PA-C, is a physician assistant with AHN Orthopaedic Institute, specializing in orthopaedic surgery. His clinical interests include sports medicine, total joint replacement, fracture management, and joint injections. He received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Health Science from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio and his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hellman is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. His goal is to have all patients to get back to normal, whether they elect to have surgery or not. He sees patients of all ages.

Andrea Blakemore, PA-C Andrea Blakemore, PA-C, is a physician assistant specializing in providing comprehensive care, patient visits, complete physicals, and targeted exams, while also coordinating with supervising physicians to develop effective treatment plans. She specializes in patient care for orthopaedic surgery. Andrea Blakemore earned a Master of Science in Health Sciences from Lock Haven University Physician Assistant Program in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Developmental Biology, with a minor in Psychology, from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. She is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support. Andrea Blakemore welcomes patients of all ages.

Patrick J. DeMeo, MD, is a professor and Institute Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at AHN. Dr. DeMeo joined the medical staff of Allegheny General Hospital in 1993. He was appointed chair of the department of orthopaedic surgery at AGH in 2006 and system chair of orthopaedic surgery for West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) in 2009. He also served on the board of directors at WPAHS, which formed the nucleus of AHN when it was launched in 2013. Dr. DeMeo has served as medical director of the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball club since 2000. Dr. DeMeo’s past roles include medical director of the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Regional Final 4 and the City of Pittsburgh’s Great Race, as well as team physician for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also served as past president of the Dapper Dan Charities and was recognized as the 2002 Pittsburgh Physician of the Year by Vectors. Dr. DeMeo is a member of the Major League Baseball-Team Physician Association, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and was elected to the American Orthopaedic Association, the country’s preeminent and most exclusive academic orthopaedic professional organization. Dr. DeMeo received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and completed medical school at Wayne State University. He completed his residency training in general surgery at the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center and in orthopaedic surgery at The Ohio State University. He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine-orthopaedic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. He is a Fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association. Dr. DeMeo’s current academic affiliations are with Drexel University College of Medicine and Temple University School of Medicine, where he serves as a professor and associate professor of orthopaedic surgery, respectively. He speaks English.
