History

Carnegie Science Center opened on October 5, 1991. Our story is not unlike the story of the river that flows past our doorstep. Just as the Allegheny and the Monongahela converge to create the great Ohio, two very unique local institutions joined to create this exciting museum: The Carnegie Institute and the Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science.

Carnegie Science Center re-opened as the Kamin Science Center. Over $100 million in new exhibits are planned for the next decade and I can't wait to see what they come up with!
